School Youth Concerts
Including music by Bach, Bizet, Mozart, and more. Learn about the four families of instruments in a fun and creative way. Children can build their own instrument and play along with the orchestra! Instruments kids can make at home include: milk carton violins, cereal box cellos, coffee can bongo drums, comb kazoos and lots more.
The school concerts this year will take place on May 3rd and May 6th at both 10:00am and 12:00pm. If you are interested in bringing your students please contact Destinee Deely for more details; email at ddeely@allentownsymphony.org or call 610-432-7961 ext. 203. Ticket reservations for your class can only be secured through the Education Coordinator.
Teacher's Manuals will be available after the holiday break. More details will be given when your reservation is made. The Allentown Symphony Association will also be holding Youth Concert Workshops for schools attending this year's concert. These workshops will include a brief overview of the concert's music and will guide your students through the creation of their own instrument, to be used during the youth concert. These workshops will be scheduled for Spring 2013 and must be booked through Destinee Deely, Education Coordinator, through email, ddeely@allentownsymphony.org.
**Please note: The concert on Monday, May 6th at 10:00am is SOLD OUT. Please make your reservations soon to assure you get your concert preference.
